Five By Three And A Bit

Super powers eh? I know I put them down here somewhere.

But yeah, I got me some powers:

  • Doing everything with one arm while carrying 20lbs of wriggle on the other side of my body.
  • Regenerating each morning despite repeated kicks to my stomach/kidneys/head during the night.
  • Remembering where my desk is at the office.
  • Remembering anything at all.
  • Reading a mind that is young but full of stuff and speaking in toddlerese, a language I haven't used in over forty years.
  • Healing major injuries with "rub, rub, rub...kiss, kiss, kiss".
  • Turning perfectly good foodstuffs into crap that no one will eat.
  • Restraining my urge to bang my head against a wall at bedtime until I explode.
  • Staying on the right side of the road while having an in-car conversation with a child through the extra rearview mirror.
  • Staying on the road - either side - while driving and fishing behind the passenger seat for "MY LA-LA!!!! NEED IT!"
  • Finding girls' toddler clothes that are not pink.
  • Walking two dogs and a toddler without assistance (variable success with this one).
  • Dozing curled up in a frozen ball at the bottom of a single bed.
  • Having a bath in 32 seconds. Which is two seconds too long for some people.

I hope soon to be able to:

  • Float above our upstairs floors because of the SODDING CREAKY FLOORBOARDS.
  • Persuade a 25 month old child to eat. Anything. Other than satsumas. She's good on satsumas.
  • Get to China for £2.75 and some WH Smith vouchers.
  • Care about my job again.
  • Sleep.

Maybe I'm too ambitious.

So...what've you got? What are your super powers? Can we pool?

Introducing ... Paperotica

Squeezed into a two-minute break in the middle of an insanely busy work day (me) and an insanely busy home life (Jo) we somehow managed to take a collective deep breath (Can two be "collective"? Let's say yes) and do a cyber-jump off a cliff together. (Except let's say that instead of seeing the credits roll Thelma and Louise style, leading you to believe that we would most certainly have jumped to our deaths ... you actually get to see our capes pop out like parachutes from under our black t-shirts and we fly off into space.  Cuz ... get it? Super powers?)

Where was I? Yes ... cyber-jump during a two-minute break to FLICK YE OLDE SWITCH AND LAUNCH OUR NEW WEBSITE:  Paperotica.

Here, let me dangle a tantalizing excerpt inches away from your face:

What does stationery evoke in you? Heart beat a little faster? Palms get sweaty? Think crisp, clean notepaper designed by artisans. Shiny, new pens that whisper the promise of a bold, smudge-free scrawl. Step right up, ladies and gents! Take a moment to let your mind wander the shadows of our théatre. Buy, browse or covet. We won't tell anyone we saw you here.

Please visit.  We'd love to see you there.  Admission is free.  Please keep your boots off the seats.  Snacks are fine, but please don't spill your drink. (God, I hate sticky floors.)  Show times may vary, but expect at least one viewing per day. Loitering between shows is welcome, of course.

Be well,

alisa
